Reviews for Writers– Introduction

Welcome to Reviews for Writers— book reviews that focus on the aspects of a book that are of interest to writers, rather than casual readers.

Unlike traditional reviews, Reviews for Writers focuses on craft, and is aimed at individuals who view novels as references, research, and primary sources for writing, as well as pleasure reading material.

One of the pieces of advice an aspiring writer often hears is, read: read often, and read diversely. It is important for writers to expose themselves to a wide variety of books and authors, to learn from their peers by searching for both good and bad examples of the elements of craft. Reviews for Writers discusses how elements such as world building, thematic development, pace, character development, dialogue, and target market work (or don’t work) within the novel up for review.

Look for Reviews for Writers on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month.

Happy writing and reading until next time,

~Amy
