Rooting for the Apes- Dawn of the Planet of the Apes: Firestorm

firestorm

Every once in a while, one finds themselves cheering for the apes. In Dawn of Planet of the Apes: Firestorm, by New York Times Bestseller Greg Keyes, the reader finds themselves doing just that. As a plague overtakes San Francisco and begins to wipe out mankind, a group of intelligent apes gather. The book acts as a bridge between the Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes films, leading right up to the action of the second prequel.

Dawn of Planet of the Apes: Firestorm is terrifying from a sociological standpoint. Society descends into madness after a plague brakes out. In the background animals use their new found intelligence to have psychological and physiological discussions using signing.  The book is fast paced, picking readers up and carrying them through a story before dropping them with force.

Fans of the Planet of the Apes franchise will greatly enjoy this book. Reading it right before going to see the new Dawn of the Planet of the Apes film is an extra added bonus.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes: Firestorm is now available from Titan Books.
