Olaf Pooley, 101, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2015 of congestive heart failure. Pooley is remembered for his numerous roles through British and American television. He was the oldest surviving actor in both Doctor Who and Star Trek. He played the obsessed and slightly mad scientist Professor Eric Stahlman in Doctor Who: Inferno (1970) and he played a Cleric in the Star Trek: Voyager episode The Blink of an Eye, directed by his second wife, Gabrielle Beaumont.

Pooley had a varied career both acting and writing. He wrote and acted in The Corpe (known in America as Crucible of Horror.)  He also wrote the 1980 mystery horror film, The Godsend. He wrote, but was not credited for his work in Lifeforce (1985.)  His acting credits range from The Invisible Man in the 1950s British Television to Shakespeare to MacGyver on American Television.

Anneke Wills, Polly from Classic Who stated, “My dear old Ola. 101! Up in the clouds, having a drink with Mick Gough – chuckling that he made seven years more than him: both of them completely compos mentis right to the end. So it’s not sad, it’s a triumph. May we all live to be 101 and keep our marbles”.

Our hearts go out to his family in this time. A long and varied life, may we all, as Wills stated, live to be as old and “keep our marbles.”

If you wish to help, there is a GoFundMe to help pay the expensive for his daughter and granddaughters to travel to London to attend the funeral.
