Titan Comics picks us back up with the Tenth Doctor, Captain Jack Harkness, Cindy Wu, Cleo, and crew fighting for their lives from the Doctor’s Companion and Cindy’s best friend, Gabby Gonzales.

Deep from in the bowels of the Ebonite’s “Arena of Fear,” the Doctor and his group have found themselves pitted against their friends in a death match, and as usual, the Doctor doesn’t intend to follow the rules. Managing to reverse the effect of the Ebonite’s memory wipe in his group, he finds that might be a little more difficult to do in Gabby’s group.

Nick Abadzis brings us the next chapter to his most ambitious story to date. He does a wonderful job pulling up the threads of this story to bring several arcs together. Drawing on our memories of various story lines over the last few months, he works these varied characters together in a satisfying way. Keeping his voice, he keeps each character true to our expectations, working them to the climax that keeps you sucked into the story from first to last panel.

Elena Casagrande does a great job keeping track of the various characters tearing around the panels. I will admit I got a little lost keeping track of who was who, but that wasn’t so much how they were drawn, but a bit to do with the angle the perspective the panels were tossed in and the breakneck action. There is a good bit of random use of Dutch Angle (Dutch Angle is when the frame is put at an angle). It’s visually interesting and leaves you studying the frame for a moment. Her artwork will keep you drawn into the story from cover to cover.
